Yes! We are accepting patients of all ages! If you are expecting and need healthcare for your newborn to caring for your grandparents. You may email the address at the bottom of the page or call the office at 307-315-6133 to schedule your appointment. Next day appointments are often available.
What type of patients and medical conditions do you see?
We see all ages of patients, from newborns to seniors. We manage a wide variety of medical conditions from chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, coronary artery disease, asthma, etc) to acute problems (such as respiratory infections, fractures and musculoskeletal injuries, rashes, headaches, etc). What do I need to do to transfer my care to Rocky Mountain Family Medicine?
To transfer your care to our practice you will be asked to sign a Records Release form so we may obtain your records from your previous physician. This form is available online at the forms page and you can fill it out at home and fax or email it to our office prior to your visit.
What is the difference between a DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine) and an MD (medical doctor)?
Both MDs and DOs are physicians, licensed by state medical boards to practice medicine, perform surgery, and prescribe medications. An MD attends a traditional (allopathic) school of medicine, while a DO attends an osteopathic school of medicine. Both of these medical schools have four-year curriculums. The training is quite similar, embracing traditional medical diagnosis, examination, and management approaches. However, there are some philosophical and practice differences in training. One of the main differences is that during medical school, DOs receive specific musculoskeletal training and learn manipulative techniques (Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment).
When is the earliest and latest I can make an appointment?
We start scheduling appointments at 8:30 AM and our last appointment is scheduled at 4:30. Sometimes exceptions can be made for established patients.
Questions about Services Offered
Do you take care of newborns?
Yes! We would be happy to see your child on their birthday and provide continuing care through their growth. If you are currently pregnant and would like for one of our physician's to care for your newborn please call us as soon as possible so that we may see your newborn in the hospital nursery. Dr. Lawrence also performs newborn circumcisions.
Do you offer immunizations?
Yes! We offer all routine immunizations for children and adults as recommended by the CDC.
Do you see children?
Yes! We love to see children for well child visits or sick visits. We also offer vaccinations for your child.
Do you do surgery?
Our physicians do offer clinic procedures which a short list is available on the services page. We do not perform major surgeries but will refer our patients to the best surgeons in the area for necessary surgeries.
Do you have lab services available?
Yes! We do offer a variety of labs in our clinic with results within minutes. Please see a list of the labs we offer on the services page. Sometimes your doctor will need to order labs that are not performed in the clinic and we have the option of drawing the lab in the clinic or sending you to the lab facility that is walking distance from the clinic and these labs are usually available the next business day.
Do you perform X-rays?
No, unfortunately at this time we do not perform X-rays in our clinic. The doctors do order X-rays and other imaging tests at locations within 1 mile from the office for on-the-spot imaging.
Do you take my insurance?
We are contracted and a preferred provider for most major insurances and will bill your insurance company for your convenience. Otherwise we do charge for services at the time of visit and provide a detailed invoice that you may mail or fax to your insurance company for appropriate reimbursement.
Then why do you need my insurance information?
If we know what insurance you carry then we can prescribe appropriate medications that are covered by your particular insurance. We can also provide an invoice with the best information for your insurance company so that you may be appropriately reimbursed.
What if I don't have insurance?
We see patients without insurance also, but we do bill for services at the time of the visit. We do accept cash, check, and credit cards for payment. In some circumstances we may also provide payment plan options with an automatic withdrawal from your checking or credit card account.
Established Patient Questions
How do I get a prescription refill?
Prescription refills can be handled several ways. You may request from your pharmacy for a prescription refill, or you may call the clinic for a prescription refill, or for faster service request a refill through your Patient Portal. Sometimes if you have not been seen by a physician for some time and you are requesting a refill he may want to see you in the clinic for a check-up.
How do I get a hold of the doctor after clinic hours?
If you feel you need to get a hold of your doctor after office hours you may call the clinic number at 307-315-6133 and you will be transferred to the answering service who will connect you with the doctor on-call. If you feel you have an emergency you should dial 911 instead of contacting the on-call doctor.
Will you see me if I am in the hospital?
Well yes and no to this question. We have decided to let the hospitalist physicians at Wyoming Medical Center manage our hospitalized patients. We made this decision because trained hospital physicians can offer better care and less time in the hospital because they see hospital patients all day and every day. Your family doctor may still see you in the hospital but your care will be managed by the hospitalist physician. We are happy to see any of our patients that are admitted to Mountain View Regional Hospital in Casper.
